
Grant Contract concluded under the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program…
On 22.11.2016, Municipality Zajecar, in its role as lead partner, signed a contract with number RD-02-29-261 / 22.11.2016 grant agreement with the Managing Authority of the Interreg-IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bulgaria-Serbia 2014 -2020 in connection with the implementation of the project “Development of competitive tourist attractions for year-round festival tourism that contributes to the diversification of tourist products in the region of Vidin – Zajecar” ref. No. CB007.1.11.207. A project partner on the Bulgarian side is Municipality Vidin.
During the project, a joint study of the opportunities for development of festival tourism in the cross-border region will be carried out and a joint tourist product will be created for year-round festival tourism in the region of Vidin-Zajecar. It is planned to build a new tourist infrastructure in Zajecar and equip equipment for the Arts Festival “Danube Waves”, organized by the Municipality of Vidin. Festival tourism will be promoted by running a green school and youth camp, as well as through the distribution of a series of information materials, pocket guides and a 30-minute promotional film.

Supply of equipment for musical orchestras in Vidin
Organizing a youth camp in the new tourist infrastructure in Zajecar
Conducting “Danube Waves” Arts Festival in Vidin
Promotion of the “Danube Waves” Arts Festival and organization of a green school during the festival.
The overall objective of the project is to: Support the development of competitive tourist attractions by promoting and developing festival tourism. The specific objectives of the project are: 1) To study the festivals in Bulgaria and Serbia and to promote the opportunities for festival tourism in Vidin-Zajecar; 2) To provide a new tourist infrastructure in Zajecar, suitable for festival tourism; 3) Improve the performance of Vidin orchestras by delivering tools.
The target groups to be covered include the project team members, experts from the Culture and Tourism Municipalities, local groups and orchestras, organizers of cultural events, participants in the Festival “Danube Waves”, green school and youth camp, visitors to the “Danube Waves” and “Gitariada”, journalists, representatives of the municipal administrations of Vidin and Zajecar.
