The project “Development of competitive tourist attractions for year-round festival tourism that contributes to the diversification of tourist products in the region of Vidin – Zajecar” is financed by the European Union under Priority Axis 1: Sustainable Tourism. It is implemented through INTERREG-IPP Cross-Border Cooperation Program Bulgaria-Serbia.
The event was attended by Ventsi Paskov – Deputy Mayor of Vidin Municipality, Elena Petrovich – Expert in the Municipality of Zajecar and Luka Vojvodic – Member of the City Council in Zajecar.
Paskov congratulated the attendees and expressed his satisfaction with the completion of another important project for both municipalities. “During the implementation period the objectives and all the activities envisaged under the project were achieved. The purchase of new instruments for three Vidin orchestras was one of the main investments. This is an extremely useful acquisition that will help the development of the musical life in Vidin. Another major goal was to promote the Danube Waves Festival and to organize a green school during its performance, “he said. He also noted that young people from both cross-border regions took part in the project activities and participated in creative workshops and workshops as well as in a number of other events.
Silvia Suleiman, Chief Expert Culture, Art and Sport in Vidin Municipality and part of the project team, also expressed its satisfaction with the work done: “Such initiatives open up opportunities for future cooperation between cross-border regions and I believe we will continue to we maintain good relations. ”
In addition to the purchase of musical instruments, another important investment within the project was the provision of 6 video tapes, which will be located in key locations on the territory of Vidin and will contribute to the promotion of events from the cultural calendar of the Municipality.
