Project summary:
The project general objective is to develop and promote the opportunities for festival tourism in Vidin-Zajecar through development of new tourist infrastructure in Zajecar, and supply of instruments for Vidin orchestras. The specific objectives of the project are as follows:
1: Explore the festivals in Bulgaria and Serbia and promote the opportunities for festival tourism in Vidin and Zajecar.
2: Provide a new tourist infrastructure in Zajecar, which is suitable for festival tourism.
3: Improve the conditions and performances of Vidin Orchestras by supplying musical instruments.
During the implementation of the project a joint study will be made of the opportunities for development of festival tourism in the cross-border region of Vidin – Zajecar. A joint tourist product will be created for year-round festival tourism in the region of Vidin – Zajecar. Promotion of the joint tourist product is envisaged. A tourist infrastructure will be built in Zajecar, where a youth camp and a green school will be organized. Equipment for the Danube Wave Arts Festival in Vidin will be delivered. Removal of the Danube Waves Arts Festival in Vidin. To promote the festival, information materials will be created – a thirty minute film and pocket guides.
Project target groups are members of the project team, cultural and tourism experts in the municipality, local groups and orchestras, organizers of cultural events, participants in the Danube Waves Festival, green school and youth camp, visitors to the Danube Waves Festival, and “Gitariada”, as well as journalists, representatives of the municipal administrations of Vidin and Zajecar.
